Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI), the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore are pleased to present a luncheon talk on "New Economic Order in the Wake of the Global Financial Crisis" by Mr. John Tsang, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Hong Kong is one of Asia's leading city for international business with its main attractions being political stability and clean government, pro-business governance, rule of law and independent legal system, free market principles with a level playing field for both local and foreign companies, free movement of capital, talent, goods and information and English as the language of business. Hong Kong has been ranked as the World's Freest Economy by the Heritage Foundation for 16 consecutive years.
The focus of the talk is on the new economic order and regional cooperation following the global financial crisis, especially the coordination of exit strategies for those impacted by the crisis. Mr. Tsang will also talk about the latest developments in the Hong Kong economy, highlighting what Hong Kong is doing to strengthen its position as a capital raising platform for Asian companies, to foster economic integration with the Mainland of China and to promote the growth of renminbi (RMB) business in the city.
